Ferdinand Expected To Leave United

Rio Ferdinand went through his last season as a Manchester United player and his time at Old Trafford concluded in not the best way as they finished the season at the 7th spot in the Premier League which is their lowest position since 1990 as well as being unable on securing any kind of silverware after being eliminated from all of them which includes: Champions League, FA Cup and Capital One Cup.

The English defender talked about his future although things still remain unclear for him as Ferdinand still is not quite sure about where and which club he will be joining after making his way out of Old Trafford.

Ferdinand told Sky Sports: “I am open to things in Asia and as I have said before I love it here in Asia and my wife said she loves it here as well in Singapore. In the coming days I will start to think about my next step and make a decision on what will happen. I haven’t had much time to do that yet since the season ended. I’ve been able to get away from the hype and enjoy my time.”

After being knocked out from all of the competitions that Manchester United played in this past season, it comes as no surprise why many players want to leave the club but even with their recent awful campaign, Ferdinand believes that United will not experience any problems in signing new players during the summer transfer window.

“I don’t think it’ll be a problem this summer. If we have a sustained period outside of Europe, then you start having problems, you saw that with Liverpool. For the next few years I don’t see it as a problem. The club is a juggernaut, it’s a beast … I think players still look at Manchester United with that envious sigh and want to play for United.” Ferdinand added on.

There are a number of players which are being linked with Manchester United which includes: Bacary Sagna, Arturo Vidal and even Arjen Robben but before they can sign any of their targets United is focusing their resources on assigning their next manager with Louis van Gaal one of the favorites of taking up the hot seat
