BT Sports pundit Rio Ferdinand said that West Ham United could fight for the Premier League title, but he doesn’t think they have what it takes.

A lot of the West Ham United fans would be hoping that their team can do what Leicester City achieved at the end of the 2015/16 Premier League season. The Foxes held off the big teams to win the league title under Italian manager Claudio Ranieri who’s now in charge of the first team squad at Watford.

Outside the top three teams in the Premier League, West Ham United have spent the most time in the top four which will guarantee Champions League football ahead of next season. The Hammers dropped out of the top four positions for the first time in two months when they were beaten at Arsenal on Wednesday night.

Alongside West Ham United, London rivals Arsenal also have their focus on clinching a place in the top four spots on the Premier League log and they gave themselves a big chance of meeting their target with the well deserved 2-0 win over the Hammers.

Brazilian player Gabriel Martinelli and English substitute Emile Smith-Rowe were on target for the Gunners who produced a fantastic performance in front of their home fans. They needed to win to move above their opponents and into the top four places. That was exactly what they did as they moved above the Hammers on the league table.
