Van Gaal Claims Fans Had Unreasonable Expectations
Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has said that people had unrealistic expectations of him in the first match against Swansea. The Dutchman opened his United career with a defeat against Swansea at Old Trafford. This results shocked many who had been hoping for a much better performance from United, especially at home, after the appointment of this experienced manager. Home form was extremely disappointing under David Moyes last campaign and this was one of the primary reasons behind the club finishing outside the top four.
